Important Info in the Event Packet

Who, What, Why?

ALL Members & Parents are needed to participate in order to make this event a success.

Our FINS Swim-A-Thon fundraiser is one of our biggest events of the year! During the event, swimmers will challenge themselves to complete up to 200 pool lengths in 2 hours or less. Once the swimming is complete, it’s a big party to celebrate all of their efforts in and out of the pool. This is a fun team event that we look forward to each year!

The SAT is our most important fundraising effort of the year. Donations and Sponsorships help us to not only maintain our range and level of quality programming, but it allows us to keep expanding as well. All contributions directly support essentials such as training equipment, competition fees, travel expenses, and team development opportunities.

Our current top WISH LIST needs:

  1. Media cart with portable video display to review swims & provide feedback.

  2. A new equipment box for the pool area to keep our equipment safe.

  3. Dryland equipment, including permanent pull-up bars on pool deck to build our swimmers’ strength.

  4. Coach Education Fund for clinics and workshops to continue to provide top quality coaching.

100% Tax Deductible:  FINS Swim Club, Inc is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. EIN 72-1515022.

Swim-A-Thon is a fundraiser used by USA Swimming clubs all over the United States. Swimmers receive pledges and donations from family members, friends, neighbors, and local businesses and our team retains 95% of all funds raised. The remaining 5% goes to USA Swimming Foundation and their Grant Program that brings the gift of learning how to swim to kids across the country to those who may not have had the opportunity otherwise.

During Swim-A-Thon (SAT), swimmers are allowed to swim a maximum of 200 laps or for a period of 2 hours, whichever comes first, and you will be AMAZED at how many laps these young swimmers can swim when surrounded by their teammates all working toward the same goal! The SAT is not JUST a fundraiser or a time to “come swim laps”, this is a time to come together and celebrate our team and help secure future growth, passion, and success!

Success of the Swim-A-Thon allows us to meet our annual budget needs, make improvements to our swim programs, purchase equipment, assist in team travel trips, and provide our swimmers with fun team building opportunities in our community.  This fundraising event is vital to our organization both financially and as a team building event itself. We thank you for your Support!
